Background
Legacy Hotels & Resorts Ltd are a specialist hotel management services company currently operating 12 hotels for their various clients across the UK and Jersey. In January 2008 they took on the management of the Botleigh Grange Hotel in Southampton – a 56 bedroom high quality 4 star hotel which was previously privately operated under the Best Western banner. The hotel had opened a day spa to compliment the existing hotel facilities some 18 months earlier.

Brief
The Botleigh Grange Spa whilst enhancing the hotel’s ability to increase occupancy and attract corporate and leisure business had operated at a loss prior to Legacy’s arrival and break even in the first full year of management. Legacy Hotels appointed Imagine to take on the full management of the spa including the staffing with the purpose of turning the spa into a profitable unit.

Outcome
The spa achieved profit after the payment of all Fitness Express fees in month two and has continued to deliver profits month on month. The current turnover (October 2009) is over double that achieved prior to Imagine’s involvement.
